A gem of a Grade II listed building located in Harborne is Bishops Croft. Off Old Church Road, now home of the Bishop of Birmingham. Dates to circa 1780. Was built for Thomas Green.

In brief
A large red brick house built circa 1780 for Thomas Green, a Birmingham manufacturer who became the squire of Harborne. It was enlarged with alterations by A. S. Dixon in 1902-03 for Archibald Kenrick. The property has an Ionic porch. The house became the residence of the Bishop of Birmingham from 1911. Dixon added a chapel in 1923. Became a Grade II listed building in 1952.
