Prince of Wales Moseley - history

Built in 1860, The Prince of Wales is steeped in history, but it’s the Marsden family that has transformed the venue into something else entirely.

Boasting three bars, a heated marquee and even it’s own tiki bar, it’s easy to see how this vision led to us being awarded the coveted BII (British Institute of Innkeepers) award.

Like any good pub, our locals are key and are what bring character to this charming building, much like the wider Moseley area.

That being said, we’re not limited to the same-old faces. From a well-stocked bar carrying all the charm of a traditional pub, to a wine shed spanning the great grape regions & our infamous Mo-Tiki cocktail bar, we’ve truly have got something to suit all tastes.

Moseley Emporium

The Prince of Wales used to share their building with an antiques shop called the Moseley Emporium. But it closed down in 2020, and the unit was up for sale in 2020, as of 2022 is has been sold.

Moseley Central

Moseley Central - an apartment block was built next door to the Prince of Wales during 2017 to 2018.

The painted sign on the side wall was hidden during construction in 2017.
