Built as St Peter's Church on George Street West in 1902 by Birmingham architect F B Osborn, in the perpendicular style, it is now called the New Testament Church of God The Rock. There is a view of it from the Secret Garden at the Library of Birmingham (behind Spring Hill Library).

New Testament Church of God The Rock - history
One of two remaining Victorian buildings in Spring Hill (including the Library), this was originally the Church of St Peter, built in 1902.

There is a statue on the west gable and heads below on the arches of the arcades, carved by Thomas Catley.
The font was from Rickman & Hutchinson's St Peter's Church, Dale End of 1825-27, which the church replaced.
The stained glass east window was by Heaton, Rutler & Bayne, 1902.

It has been the New Testament Church of God The Rock since at least the beginning of the 21st century.
NTCG The Rock is a dynamically loving, vibrantly worshipping and steadily growing Pentecostal church, of the Black British African and Black British Caribbean communities.
