Cromwell Junior & Infant School - history

Cromwell Street School opened in 1889 to the designs of J A Cossins, built in the Gothic and Queen Anne Revival styles.

At opening the school had places for 1,080 boys, girls and infants. The building suffered bomb damage during World War II, and spent a period as a civic restaurant.
