The Greek Orthodox Cathedral was built in 1873 as a Catholic Apostolic church by Julius Alfred Chatwin. There was alterations in 1898 and 1900. Built in the High Victorian Gothic style. It had been a Greek Orthodox Church since 1958, and became a Cathedral from 1980.

The Birmingham Orthodox Cathedral or Greek Orthodox Cathedral, was originally built as a Catholic Apostic church. Dated to 1873 by J. A. Chatwin.

It has been a Greek Orthodox Church since 1958.

Mostly a community of Greek Cypriots who emigrated to Britain.

The original Greek Orthodox church was in a church hall next to a Protestant church on the Pershore Road in 1947.

The congregations grew by 1951 and the first Green Orthodox Church in Birmingham was inaugurated in 1958.

The Cathedral was consecrated in 1980.
