Sir Charles Napier - history

This pub is on the corner of Bissell Street.

General Sir Charles James Napier,(August, 10, 1782 – August 29, 1853), was a general of the British Empire and the British Army's Commander-in-Chief in India, notable for conquering the Sindh Province in what is now Pakistan.

The pub was built in the first half of the 20th century in the Highgate area of Birmingham.

And was once run by the Atkinsons brewery.

It is now an Irish themed pub.

Paint scheme outside used to be cream and light blue, but since 2018, the blue has been replaced with red paint.
